President Donald Trump reinstates Mexico City Policy on Abortion

One of the first moves made by the newly-inaugurated President Trump was to reinstate the Mexico City Policy on Abortion, an executive action which according to the article, “barring foreign aid or federal funding for international nongovernmental organizations that promote or provide abortions.” According to the Susan B. Anthony List president Marjorie Dannenfelser, “”President Trump is continuing Ronald Reagan’s legacy by taking immediate action on day one to stop the promotion of abortion through our tax dollars overseas.”

Dow Jones Jumps to 20,000 Points

The Dow Jones closed on a high of 20,000 points that had not ever been achieved on Wednesday, when according to the article, “a series of executive orders from President Donald Trump increased bullish sentiment on Wall Street, while financials outperformed.” Boeing, Goldman Sachs and IBM provided the most gains.

Vice-President Mike Pence first high-ranking White House Official to speak at the March for Life

January 27 marks the day of the 2017 March for Life, an annual demonstration to contest the legality and procedure of abortion. This year’s march made history when Vice President of the United States Mike Pence took the stage at the rally before the march, rallying for the cause.  According to the article, he is stated as saying “We thank you for your love for the women and children of America.’”

Mary Tyler Moore Dead at 80

Wednesday saw the end of an icon, with Mary Tyler Moore passing away at the age of 80. She was Revered by many as a feminist icon for her role on the Mary Tyler Moore show as an independent budding professional, and according to the article, “Mary Tyler Moore became a feminist icon as Mary Richards,” said Jennifer Keishin Armstrong, the author of “Mary and Lou and Rhoda and Ted: And All the Brilliant Minds Who Made The Mary Tyler Moore Show a Classic.”
