Donald Trump officially elected 45th President of the United States

Today, Donald Trump took the oath of office and was officially sworn in as the 45th President of the United States. As noted by the United States Constitution, the U.S. President is sworn in every four years at noon. The parade down Pennsylvania Avenue is scheduled to take place today, as well as many celebratory events throughout the day.

Inauguration Protesters run rampant in D.C.; Stage Sit-Down Protest for Parade

Protestors against the Presidential inauguration took the streets of D.C. and other cities across the country in protest of the Inauguration of Donald Trump, even attempting to thwart the parade by arranging a sitting down protest. According to the article, “Demonstrators came from across the US to voice their objection President Donald Trump – despite being a tiny minority compared to vast crowds there to hail him. Some said they would also have protested Hillary Clinton.

Women’s March on Washington gains controversy for shunning Pro-Life Women’s Groups

The Women’s March on Washington scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 21st has taken up more controversy after removing Pro-Life sponsors of the march. According to the article, “Pro-lifers who do plan to attend are arming themselves with Go-Pro cameras so, ‘When they start spitting and screaming at us it will be helpful,’ Kristan Hawkins, the president of Students for Life of America, told the New York Times.

“A Dog’s Purpose” Under Fire for Animal Abuse; Premiere events cancelled

When TMZ posted video Wednesday of what appeared to be crew forcing a German shepherd into rough waters, it caused much uproar and ensued backlash, including the cancelling of the main Premiere events that were originally scheduled to take place. According to the article, “Producer Amblin Entertainment and distributor Universal Pictures haven’t disputed the authenticity of the footage. They say in a joint statement that Universal decided to cancel the premiere because Amblin’s review of the video “is still ongoing.” The statement says the companies have been assured the German shepherd wasn’t harmed.”
